Cuma & Pierre with Alex & Liz Porter, Caseworker for the ‘Bridges’ programme A Scottish firm has taken an innovative approach to the skills shortage by recruiting asylum seekers and refugees.

Xircon is taking advantage of candidates who came through The Bridges Programme, which provides work opportunities for Asylum Seekers and Refugees.

Alex Miller, Managing Director of Xircon, has recruited refugees Cuma Ulgu and Pierre Mungombe to the team based in Cumbernauld.

He said: “We recognise the skills shortage is one of the biggest threats to the continuing progress of the Construction Industry in Scotland and that Employers need to look out with the ageing pool of available talent to find solutions.

“We are pleased to offer an opportunity to 2 Candidates with plenty of Construction experience who now have indefinite leave to remain in the UK.”
