The leading force behind the formation of Xircon, Alex has over 30 years experience in virtually every area of the construction industry from small refurbishments to some of the largest projects in the UK.
After 20 years with Balfour Beatty, Alex joined Mowlem plc where he served as Divisional Board Director for Mowlem Building with responsibility for operations in Scotland, North Wales, North West England and The Midlands, as well as holding overall responsibility for Health & Safety and Business Improvement for Mowlem Building throughout the UK.
His long association with Investors in People as a panel member and Advocate for IIP Scotland is reflected in his open-door mentoring style, underpinned by a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the modern construction industry. His enthusiasm for change and encouragement of innovative thinking has resulted in a number of Xircon ‘firsts’ including the introduction of new building techniques and the pioneering implementation of JCT contracts in Scotland.
